Illustrative sample — fictional learners and data

Month-end variance note for a cost centre

Scored on the same rubric at week 0 and week 12

Week 0Business · 1 Emerging

Lists every line that moved, with no threshold and no cause. The reader has to work out what matters.

Week 12Business · 3 Ready

Opens with the two variances above threshold, gives the cause and the owner for each, and proposes one action for next month.

Readiness rubric

Six dimensions, four levels.

Every work sample is scored on observable behaviour. Level 3 means ready for the role.

Three levels of proof

Agreed before we start.

  1. 1

    Participation

    Attendance, submissions, reviews completed.

  2. 2

    Demonstrated performance

Rubric scores on before/after work samples.

  3. 3

    Business signal

One metric chosen at diagnosis (for example time to first independent deliverable, rework rate, hours on a recurring task), measured against your baseline.

Every engagement states up front which levels it will report.

Next step

Start with one team and three weeks.
